Red Riding Hood

After almost a year waiting, I've finally watched Red Riding Hood starring my favorite girl Amanda Seyfried. I think I've blogged about how anxious I am for the movie. The review said it’d be as good as twilight but after watching it, disappointed was all I’m left with. It’s nothing like what I've expected.

Here's the trailer.

"In Red Riding Hood, Seyfried plays Valerie, a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie’s older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), to help them kill the wolf. But Solomon’s arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them. As the death toll rises with each moon,Valerie begins to suspect that the werewolf could be someone she loves. As panic grips the town,Valerie discovers that she has a unique connection to the beast–one that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect…and bait."

The story line is predictable as if I’ve gone through the same movie some time ago. I just can’t remember which movie.

I found out that with the exception of Amanda, all the characters are either played by actor with brown eyes or wearing brown colour contact lenses. If you watch the movie, you'll understand how important brown contact lenses is in the movie.

It is said that there are errors and goofs in the movie but I don’t think I should reveal it here. Watch it, try to spot which is which and then tell me or you can Google it yourself. Share with me what you got ok?

So, Red Riding hood wasn’t that nice after all.

2.5/5.0 for me.

P/S : The fact I only get to watch it now is because life in college is way more important than the much awaited movie. So this review might get too outdated since its been released March 2011.

I've seen the movie too and yes,I was so disappointed. The drama was not there...and her father being the werewolf was not interesting either... :(
